    Sense of Belonging

    This workshop is designed to explore the concept of belonging and its impact on academic success, mental health, and overall well-being. The workshop will begin with an introduction to the concept of belonging and its importance in the context of higher education. Participants will be given the opportunity to share existing barriers and ideas for creating inclusive environments and promoting a sense of community on campus.

    The workshop will also cover strategies, resources, and the role of parents in supporting their college-aged children in their journey toward belonging. Overall, this workshop is designed to be interactive, engaging, and informative. Participants will leave with a deeper understanding of the importance of belonging in the college setting and practical strategies for promoting a sense of community and connection within their respective communities. The speaker and moderator is Dr. Aisha Wilson-Carter, Associate Director of Equity and Inclusion, Hofstra University.
