    Going Global: How to Adapt Communication Strategies for Different Countries and Cultures with Dr. Kara Alaimo

    In this session, Dr. Kara Alaimo, associate professor of public relations at Hofstra University, will discuss how to adapt business and communication strategies when working in different countries and cultures. Dr. Alaimo will explore the world's ten "cultural clusters" - Confucian Asia, South Asia, Sub-Saharan Africa, the Arab world, Latin America, the Anglo world, Latin Europe, Germanic Europe, Eastern Europe, and Nordic Europe - and explain the strategies, tactics, and messages that work best within each of them.     Dr. Alaimo, a specialist in international and political/advocacy communication, is a former communicator in the United Nations and Obama administration and has written about managing reputation management for outlets including Bloomberg and Harvard Business Review. She is also director of the new online Master of Arts in Public Relations with an emphasis on reputation and crisis management.
